Manager/Supervisor
General Summary:
Responsible for the origination and loan production of real estate mortgage loans and interim construction loans, in accordance with established lending practices. The Mortgage Originator’s primary objective is to achieve profitable loan production while assuring clients obtain the mortgage loans and financial products which best meet the client’s needs and financial circumstances.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary:- Possess the knowledge, skill and desire to provide professional services to effectively, efficiently, successfully and legally originate, process, and close real estate loans.
- Interview loan applicants.
- Collect & analyze credit and financial data, develop understanding of underwriting requirements to effectively establish and negotiate credit terms.
- Remains current and complies with all RESPA and other regulatory law, guidelines and general acceptable banking practices.
- Represent JD Bank in the utmost professional manner at all times.
- Provide and maintain reliable personal transportation in order to comply with the above listed responsibilities.
- Be accessible to JD Bank office personnel.
- Cross-sell JDB products and services to borrowers when feasible to borrower.
- Attract potential borrowers by developing business referral network through marketing, prospecting and networking activities.
- Participate in community events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with realtors and homebuilders.
- Provide back-up support to other loan originator and processors when and if needed.
- Answer calls and take messages for department staff when not available.
- Adherence to and support of all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned by Management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or five years financial institution experience with one year of management training and finance related courses. Education must include advanced math aptitude and proficiency with analytical calculations.
- Experienced in FNMA/FHLMC/GNMA guidelines as they pertain to the Sellers/ Servicing Guidelines, including but not limited to underwriting, appraisals, self-employment analysis, processing, and mortgage insurance.
- Experience in LOS, Caylx, Byte, FNMA Desktop Underwriting/Desktop Origination and GUS.
Preferred Skills:
- Must have extensive knowledge of the bank’s loan programs and loan documentation.
- Ability to handle high pressure, high volume of work, and willing to work amount of time necessary to properly complete assigned duties.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Two years of operating a personal computer, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.
- Must be well groomed with good human relations and communications skills with a high degree of poise and tact to represent the bank positively. Ability to interact in a courteous, helpful and professional manner.
- Must be willing to travel on occasions, as required.
Scheduling:
Work schedule for this position will vary depending upon demand, but will consist of an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:45 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be necessary. Schedule may require representing the company after hours at related functions, customer calls or training. Regular attendance is required.Physical Demands:
